Cricket’s 1st XI building towards a finals campaign

The 1st XI has beaten all three of the other top-four teams over the past few weeks, moving them into a comfortable second place with just two games remaining in the regular season.

The boys have put in some big performances in crucial matches as they look to secure a top-two finish.

There have also been some excellent individual performances and milestones to celebrate across our cricket teams.

  • Congratulations to Seb Dunning who was presented with his 1st XI baggy cap following the team’s four-wicket win over Sacred Heart.
  • Nat McCann took 3/19 from his 8 overs for the 2nd XI against AGS.
  • Colts 1 player, Sam Wills scored 102 not out off 111 balls against King’s College.
  • Harry Burns was 4/48 from his 8 overs for Colts 2 against Avondale and added 2 catches in the field.

Last weekend, 1st XI players Jacob and Oscar completed the Auckland Half Marathon, crossing the finish line in 1 hour 49 minutes. Their efforts raised over $1,000 for 1st XI technical coaching, facility hire and equipment costs.

A group of players and parents also helped out at a hydration station at the Auckland Marathon, keeping runners hydrated as they approached the finish line. It was a great team effort, with funds raised from the day going towards supporting our wider Rosmini cricket programme.
