Rosmini students enjoy special day at MERC

It was a brilliant day of growth, challenges and marine life

Last Friday, 23 of our Year 7 and Year 8 boys set off on an coastal adventure at the Sir Peter Blake Marine Education & Recreation Centre (MERC). A staple of Kiwi outdoor education since 1990, MERC delivers marine environmental education designed to build resilience, teamwork, and confidence out on the moana.

The younger boys were supported by student leaders Max Simpson and Yann Scott, who stepped up to guide and encourage their peers throughout the day's hands-on challenges.

The true highlight of the trip, however, was seeing a pod of Orca up close, gliding through the waters of the Hauraki Gulf.

It was a brilliant day of growth, leadership, and challenges, leaving our boys with great memories and a deeper appreciation for New Zealand’s marine life.
