Young entrepreneurs shine at Year 10 Market Day

Market Day raised an impressive $345 for De Paul House

Over 40 student-led business teams brought the E block courtyard to life during a bustling lunchtime Market Day, raising an impressive $345 for De Paul House.

Working in groups of three or four, the Year 10 Business Studies students put their classroom theory into real-world practice. They handled every aspect of their ventures — from initial product development and managing cost and profit margins to taking calculated risks.

The event drew an enthusiastic crowd eager to sample the offerings. Hot nachos and crispy fried chicken were crowd favourites on the chilly day, while clever marketing tactics — including eye-catching posters, word-of-mouth promotion, interactive "spin-the-wheel" games, and signature items like "Jon Dale Juice" — showcased the boys' creative approach to adding value. A couple of enterprising teams even set up EFTPOS machines to boost their sales.

We extend a massive thank you to all the students, parents, and teachers for their incredible support. Well done, boys!
