Cook Islands Language Week 2026

Our students learned the traditional art of making pāni ēkoko to celebrate Cook Island Language Week

Another successful Language Week event, organised by our Pasifika Komiti.!

Our Pasifika boys, along with some keen Year 7 & 8, spent lunchtime learning the traditional art of making pāni ēkoko (Cook Islands donuts) - folding the dough, molding it into shape, and deep frying them.

Meitaki ma'ata (thank you very much) to our wonderful organisers and everyone who joined in.

“Me kite koe i te tuatua i to'ou reo tupuna, e turanga rangatira tena nō'ou no te uki amuri atu” — With our language as our foundation, we will embrace the future.
