Rosmini community rallies to Shave for a Cure

More than 70 of our boys put their hair on the line for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand, raising $39,000+

Friday 26 June was an incredible day for the Rosmini community. More than 70 of our boys put their hair on the line for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand, raising $39,000+ to fund life-saving research and vital patient support.

True to our school motto, Charity Fulfils the Law, this collective effort officially made Rosmini the top fundraising school and organisation in the country by a significant margin. We are so proud of our students' leadership, courage, and commitment to making a real-world difference.

The energy in the Auditorium was palpable, but it was also a space for deep reflection. On display was a beautiful painting by Y13 student Patrick Lemeki, depicting a field of daffodils beneath a dawn sky. Within the daffodil field are figures representing the spirits of loved ones who have lost their lives to cancer. Patrick encouraged staff and students to write the names of their own lost loved ones on the daffodils, turning the artwork into a living memorial and a reminder of exactly why we were all there.

A massive thank you to everyone who made this event such a success. We are grateful to the prefect team for rallying the boys to get involved, to the students who walked up to the clippers, the local barbers who generously volunteered their time, and the parents who came out to support the boys. Special thanks also go to Patrick for sharing his talent, and to every member of our community who donated to this vital cause.
