Year 9s go behind the scenes at Weta

Our Year 9 Media students visited Weta Workshops to see what goes on behind the scenes of making films and media

Our Year 9 Media students were fortunate enough to visit Weta Workshops here in Auckland, to see what goes on behind the scenes of making films and media.

We travelled through the making of fantasy, horror and science fiction genre films. One of the most popular stations was the opportunity to look closely at prosthetic make-up items, the making of simple tin foil props, and taking photos at the throne of the great castle.

We met Jeff, the robotic security guard, watched the magical beauty of a giant robot and crawled through the tunnel of a polystyrene castle, so very realistic looking!

It was a wonderful hands-on and interactive experience, one which opened up a world of creativity and imagination.
