We were recently blessed to welcome Father Michael Pui, National Director of MissioNZ, to Rosmini College. His visit was a powerful reminder of our shared calling to live with a Missionary Spirit, especially in the complexities of our modern world.
Drawing on the Great Commission in Matthew 28, Father Michael spoke to our students about Jesus’ command to "go and make disciples of all nations." He challenged us to see mission not just as something that happens in far-off lands, but as a way of life—beginning right here in our own community through acts of service, compassion, and bold faith.
Father visited two Religious Education (RE) classes, sharing his mission and presentation. Father Michael shared inspiring stories of the Church’s work globally and highlighted tangible opportunities for Rosmini College to assist. Whether through prayer, awareness, or supporting MissioNZ’s various outreach projects, our school is ready to play its part in the universal mission of the Church.
We look forward to seeing how our young men take this "Missionary Spirit" forward in their daily lives.
A reflection from one of our Young Vinnies Leaders, Stanford Vincely:
“Fr. Michael's visit to Rosmini College was an extraordinary learning experience for not just the people who brought him to the classes but also for the students who got to know more about the project that he has started with the intention of reaching the poor more effectively. From the very start, Fr. Michael was extremely humble, kind, and passionate about getting to know the students and interacting with them through his jokes and his speech bubble jokes. He answered everyone's question with in-depth answers and biblical evidence, and even ended up getting a few donations on the spot. “
