Fourteen senior students took an educational trip to Japan with Mr. Pearce and Mrs. Crosby for two weeks during the beautiful cherry blossom season.
The students visited the capital, Tokyo; the ancient capital, Kyoto; the historical city of Hiroshima; and the countryside regions of Wakayama and Nagano to explore the contrast between urban and rural lifestyles.
They experienced not only Japanese school life but also stayed with local families for a homestay. Additionally, they participated in various cultural activities, such as making Binchotan (Japanese white charcoal) wind chimes, cooking soba noodles with local high school students, pounding mochi, and visiting hot springs.
The students utilized their target language skills and prior knowledge to navigate these authentic situations. It was truly a trip of a lifetime!
