Year 7s connect at annual Beach Day

The “Rosmini Brotherhood” became a reality as our Year 7 students enjoyed their Beach Day with their Year 13 Peer Supporters at Long Bay Regional Park

The “Rosmini Brotherhood” became a reality as our Year 7 students enjoyed their Beach Day with their Year 13 Peer Supporters at Long Bay Regional Park.

With five seniors assigned to each form room, the "older brothers" weren't just supervising—they were leading the charge. By jumping into the sand and beach games, the Year 13s made it "cool" to be involved. Their presence transformed the day from a simple school trip into an induction into the school culture.

The beach became an arena for competition and creativity! Classes rotated through a gauntlet of activities designed to break the ice and build teamwork, including beach relays, touch rugby, Vortex and beach cricket, sandcastle building, and the playground. It was a great chance for the boys to just be kids and enjoy the summer sun.

The real goal of Beach Day is connection. Between the games of touch and the throwing of the vortex, something important happens: the Year 7s start to see their form room peers as friends and their Year 13 leaders as mentors.

By the time the buses rolled back to school, the "new boys" weren't so new anymore. They were Rosminians, having seen firsthand that being a "Rosmini boy" means being part of a supportive, active, and—most importantly—cool community.

By the end of the day the Year 13 Peer Supporters were sleeping in the bus. Thank you to the hard working Year 7 form room teachers and the Year 7 Dean Mrs Letting for making the day possible.
