The overall standard and calibre of the speeches delivered were exceptionally high
What a truly superb effort by our Year 7 and 8 students in this year’s Grand Final Speech Competition. The primary aim of our English programme’s annual competition is to encourage students to step outside their comfort zone and find their voice, and we are incredibly proud of them.
This year, the overall standard and calibre of the speeches delivered were exceptionally high, making the task of selecting finalists a challenging one for our dedicated English teachers. Following classroom rounds, the best speakers were selected for the semi-finals before our judges whittled them down to the final contenders for the Grand Final event.
We must pay tribute to all the students who progressed through to the later rounds. They include Emilio Boric, Oliver Humphrey, Milan Vinish, Immanuel Sebastian, James Whipp, Patrick Hammond, Kian Julve, and Noel Joseph. Getting up on stage to deliver such compelling and confident speeches to the year group shows incredible bravery and commitment to public speaking.
The Grand Final proved to be a magnificent showcase of eloquence. Our judging panel was thoroughly impressed by the maturity and polish of the presentations. While every participant was a winner in our eyes, the competition culminated in three students claiming the top spots:
First Place: Milan Vinish
Second Place: Noel Joseph
Third Place: Emilio Boric
Finally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our diligent panel of judges who volunteered their time. A very special thank you goes to our Senior students, Joseph Wolfkamp, Jairus Joseph, Anthony Angelo, and Chris Huang, for providing insightful feedback and valuable encouragement to all the participants. Well done to everyone involved!
