After a tough-fought Premier season in Auckland and a challenging Regional Qualifier, the team's performance and chemistry elevated to new levels
The Rosmini Premier Basketball team travelled to Palmerston North in the first week of the school holidays to participate again in the BBNZ Secondary School Nationals.
After a tough-fought Premier season in Auckland and a challenging Regional Qualifier, the team arrived with little expectation of success, focusing on taking the tournament a game at a time.
A first-round loss to eventual champions Shirley Boys High School sparked a fire in the team, and from that point forward, led by the team leaders Mattie Dalton and Hunter Johns, the team made a run into the top 8 of the tournament.
The rise of new players Cooper Lepou and Troy Wentworth helped propel the team to a top 6 finish, but more importantly, the entire team's performance and chemistry elevated to new levels.
All the players represented the school admirably both in character and play, especially our Seniors; Mattie Dalton, Cooper Hulme, Sam Law, Xavier Wells, Indy Marshall and Troy Wentworth, who ended their high school basketball careers at Rosmini College.
