Rosmini College proudly sent three teams to compete in the North Harbour Senior Secondary School Badminton League
Rosmini College proudly sent three teams to compete in the North Harbour Senior Secondary School Badminton League — marking the first time our school has fielded teams across three different grades in this tournament. This is a fantastic milestone reflecting the growing popularity of badminton at Rosmini.
Our A Grade team, comprising Ryan Soo-Jones, Max William, Stanford Vincely and Jonathan Koe, demonstrated tremendous skill and determination. A Grade matches were held every Monday throughout Term 2. On the final day, they played for the bronze medal against Pinehurst College. Despite a hard-fought contest, they narrowly missed out on 3rd place by just two games, finishing 4th overall. Special credit goes to Max, Stanford and Jonathan, who stepped up into the deep end to compete at A Grade level alongside Ryan, showing great courage and sportsmanship.
The B Grade team consisted of Chris Huang, Kevin Pamurahardjo, Gavin Saptaputra and Reece Augustine. They played every Thursday during the term and performed extremely well throughout the competition. On the final day, B Grade contested for first place in a close match against Westlake Boys High School. In a result mirroring A Grade’s, they fell short by just two games and secured an impressive 2nd place finish. Credit is also given to James Orjalo who also stepped up to play in B grade.
The C Grade team, also competing every Monday, delivered outstanding performances. James Orjalo, Marcus Yap, Ryan Percy, Martin Sequera and Noah Lu won nearly all their matches leading up to the final. In a tense showdown for first place, they came up just short against Kaipara College, securing a well-earned 2nd place finish.
The commitment, teamwork and competitive spirit shown by all our players highlight how badminton is fast becoming an emerging sport within the school. We look forward to seeing badminton continue to grow and thrive in Rosmini.
