One Fijian experience truly stood out - a visit to Mount St. Mary's School and Parish in Nadi
Our recent Commerce trip to Fiji was filled with incredible experiences, but one visit truly stood out: our time at Mount St. Mary's School and Parish in Nadi. This wasn't just a stop on our itinerary; it was a deeply enriching encounter that left a lasting impression on everyone.
We were warmly welcomed by the Parish Priest, a man of great spirit with a remarkable talent for singing and playing the piano. He generously shared the fascinating history of both the parish and the school, offering us a window into their enduring legacy in the community. What made this meeting particularly special was the personal blessing he bestowed upon our entire group, a moment of profound significance that resonated with us all.
Following our insightful conversation, the priest kindly guided us on a tour of the Marist Sisters' convent, nestled right beside the parish and school. It was a true pleasure to meet and interact with the Sisters, whose dedication and warmth were palpable. Their commitment to their community was truly inspiring to witness firsthand.
The highlight for many was undoubtedly the tour of the school itself. Our students had the incredible opportunity to meet and interact with the students and teachers of Mount St. Mary's. The students were enthusiastic, responding to our "Bula's" with energy, enthusiasm, and happiness. They were clearly delighted to meet the boys from Auckland, New Zealand, who had taken the time to visit and experience their classrooms and school.
This exchange was a vibrant testament to the power of connection, as our students gained a unique perspective on education and daily life in Fiji.
This visit to Mount St. Mary's was more than just a tour; it was a memorable experience that will forever be etched in our minds as a pivotal part of our successful Commerce trip. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Parish Priest, the Marist Sisters, and the entire Mount St. Mary's community for their incredible hospitality and for sharing their world with us.
