Success for Rosmini at Auckland Athletic Champs

Success for Rosmini at Auckland Athletic Champs

Congratulations to the Rosmini students who competed at the Auckland Athletics Championships on Tuesday 26 March at Mt Smart Stadium.

There were over 700 athletes from 80 schools vying for the podium spots!

Luke Te Tana (Year 10) did well against a strong competitive field of throwers to win a Gold medal in the Junior Boys Discus with a throw of 47.07m.

Luke fought hard among some very talented throwers to win a Bronze medal in the Junior Boys Shot Put, narrowly missing out on a Silver by only 6cm.

In his first year as a Junior, Declan Ford (Year 9) was consistent under pressure when competing against the older athletes, throwing a PB to finish in 4th place, missing out on a podium finish by just less than 1m.

In other impressive results, Quinn Thompson (Year 9) finished 6th in the 200m Junior Dash; Jayden Modigh (Year 9) finished 6th in both the 800m and 1500m Junior Run; Ryder Heath (Year 13) ran an excellent race to come third in the 400m Dash Senior; and Kento Hayashi (Year 11) came 10th in the 800m Run Senior. These are all fantastic results to be proud of!
