Tight contest for Junior A team at North Island tournament

The Junior A water polo season culminated with the North Island Secondary Schools tournament at the end of term. A narrow loss and a draw in round robin play saw us in the position of needing other results to go our way in order to make the top 4 and unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Following a narrow one-goal loss in quarter-finals the boys had a strong final game and finished 7th.

Results for Jun A at North Islands:

Vs PNBHS 1-14 win

Vs St. Kents 8-9 loss

Vs Kings 5-5

Rangitoto 7-6 win

AGS 5-6 loss

Rangitoto 7-2 win

With multiple games across these wider competitions coming down to a one goal difference or a draw, the team showed how competitive they were. A special mention must be made to our head coach, Michael Slessor-White who after five years as coach of the Junior A team will now be stepping down from this role as he takes on the role head coach for our Premiers team. A massive thank you to Michael for the role he has played in this time developing our junior boys and his ongoing contribution to Rosmini water polo. Thanks also to Will Catlin (old boy) assistant coach and manager Natasha McIndoe for all your hard work over the season.
