Peace Week 2023
Once again senior students from Young Vinnies and the Catholic Character Team took part in Peace Week 2023. Some of the activities at Westlake Girls included:
- Paper crane folding and presentation about the history of nuclear testing
- Team quiz and mini challenges
- Hiroshima survivors talk (Takeaki and Takako are back form Japan. They did their last talk with us in 2020)
- Peace Foundation talk and painting peace rocks
- Project Runway!
This is an annual event hosted by WGHS and our young Leaders have been attending since 2015. One of the standout presentations was by two Hiroshima survivors, Takeaki and Takako. Their account of this event and its awful repercussions was deeply moving and greatly appreciated by our boys.
Head of Social Sciences at Westlake Girls said they just love having us there and that our boys are "outstanding Ambassadors for Rosmini College".
