KBB Band and Orchestra Festival
On Monday 7 August the 38 members of the Rosmini Orchestra travelled to the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Parnell to compete in the KBB Band and Orchestra Festival. They were able to listen and support a number of other orchestras from around Auckland before performing on stage themselves.
The orchestra performed an arrangement of ‘The Moldau’ by Bedrich Smetana before launching in to ‘Edge of Glory’ by Lady Gaga. Their next piece was ‘Greatest Hits of Journey’ by the band Journey and their last piece was ‘Engines of Resistance’ by Larry Clark and featuring the percussion section.
The orchestra performed exceptionally well and are looking forward to hearing what award they will receive on Saturday night.
