The Rosmini College Sports Awards Dinner was held at QBE North Harbour Stadium on Thursday, 13th October. The Guest Speaker was Cameron Leslie (MNZM). The Sportsman of the Year was Patrick Haybittle

 

 

The Junior Sportsman of the Year was Marvin Williams-Dunn.

 

 

The Intermediate Sportsman of the Year was Keano Kini.

 

 

 

The Sporting Performance of the Year was awarded to the Rosmini College 1st XI Hockey team. The Sports Team of the Year was the Senior Premier Basketball team.

Year 10 student, Sam Reinen took part in the Surf Life Saving New Zealand National Pool Champs held at the Sir Owen G. Glenn National Aquatic Centre on the 7th – 9th October. Sam came first in the U16 Men’s Medley Relay, U16 Men’s 50m Obstacle Relay, U16 Men’s Line Throw and U16 Men’s Manikin Relay. In addition his Manikin Relay team broke the New Zealand record. 

 

The Rosmini College Lacrosse team are the winners of the Auckland Northern Division. They have won the Jack Hutton Cup. The team is coached by Andrew Muir and Rosmini Old Boy, James Clarkson.

 

The Rosmini College Lacrosse team are the winners of the Auckland Northern Division and on Friday, 16th September, they beat Mount Roskill Grammar School to win the Greater Auckland title. Lacrosse is a relatively new sport at Rosmini College, but this year, the fourth, has seen the team balloon out to twenty-six players. The team is coached by Andrew Muir and Rosmini Old Boy, James Clarkson. Year 11 student, William Clarkson (15) of Kumeu is the team’s captain. 

 

On Saturday, 27th August the North Harbour Rugby finals day was held at the North Harbour Domain. Rosmini College was well represented with four teams competing in the finals.

All games were very evenly contested and produced a high quality of rugby which is a compliment to the players and coaches involved.

Congratulations go to the 6A team who capped off an unbeaten season, defeating Westlake 17 - 7. The forwards produced a strong effort in the second half to seal the victory. The 4A team was also successful in defeating Rangitoto 5 -3 in a game which featured a fine team try and a very hectic finish.

Both other games could have gone either way, however, the 3rd XV lost to Orewa 8 - 7 and the 7As lost to Westlake 15 - 5.

 A special mention and thanks to all the parents that gave up their time in coaching and managing all the teams that represented the school this season.
