Weekly Round Up 14

Rosmini 4th and 6th grade are North Harbour Rugby CHAMPIONS!!

The 6th and 4th grade rugby teams managed to finish their seasons on the ultimate high by winning their respective North Harbour rugby championships. The Rosmini 6th grade side, coached by the two super coaches Bell and Richards beat Rangitoto 23 v 5 in a very exciting game, they were unbeaten all season and have been a class above all their opposites. The same would have to be said about the 4th grade side, a solo coaching performance by Marley Mackay on the day helped guide their side to victory. They won their final 21 v 3 over arch enemies Westlake and were also unbeaten all season. Both sides have played some great rugby this year and it is a credit to the effort and attitude of both teams’ players. Unfortunately the 2nd XV narrowly lost their final to Westlake but it was a very good effort by the Rosmini side that pushed them right till the end. Congratulations to these three teams on what was a fine day for Rosmini rugby.

Onto hockey and news has just come in of a very good start to the National competition for the 1st 11, they have won their 2 games thus far with today’s result a 15 nil win. Things are looking very promising for the remainder of the tournament and we will provide a full update of the tournament next week. Fingers crossed!

The 1st 11 soccer are also enjoying success at their tournament and just need one more win to make it through to the semis so they will also be hoping to continue their great start.

Once again a weekly roundup highlighting the quality of Rosmini sport this year. Let’s hope we can celebrate even more success next week.

Weekly Round Up 12

Term two has produced a number of very pleasing sporting results across the board and we can look back at our efforts and be extremely happy. The soccer teams have consistently produced excellent results competing and often beating teams supposedly ranked much higher. They have benefitted immensely from all the hard work the players and the management, lead by Mr Stanojevic have put in throughout the season and I’m sure the success will continue next term.

Weekly Round Up 10

Rosmini College sport had a cracker of a weekend just gone with a number of wins across the board. Of the ten sides that we have competing in the respective North harbor grades only three suffered losses while the other seven each performed exceptionally well. The 1st XV had a resounding 33 v 3 win over Mahurangi; this will give them plenty of confidence looking ahead to their clash with Rangitoto this weekend. It is also great to see that the team was back playing on the Rosmini Number 1 field (Tom Gerrard Ground) after extensive refurbishments. The surface is now as good a quality as you will see around Auckland.
