Rosmini yr 9 team competed well throughout this tournament.
Having played 2 x 20/20 matches against Takapuna Grammar and Long Bay College which were won comfortably by Rosmini.
Having these 2 wins meant we had to play Westlake in a qualifying final to progress to the next round.
Westlake had home ground advantage and batted first and were bowled out for
195 in 39 overs.
We could smell victory and proceeded to chase down the total.
Wickets fell and regular interval and left us wondering if we had enough batting left to get the total.
As it turned out we did as we drew with Westlake's score of 195 but the catch was we had lost 1 less wicket which meant we were the winners despite being forced into a bowl of which we did not fear so well in.
This meant we were in the final 8 for Auckland and moved to the finals tournament held at Waikaraka Park.
Playing Sacred Heart first we emerged victorious again. Next up was AGS which was played on a wet pitch with light rain falling. With conditions and the pitch worsening, proceedings were bought to a close with all teams given a point each for a draw. Still unbeaten in 5 games we were up against St Peters who put up a worthy fight and bowled us out for a mere 130. Not to go down without a fight we bowled them out for 58.
Unfortunately we were beaten to a finals spot by AGS who had a better net run rate than ours so we came away having being unbeaten but not a finalist.
The team competed well and upheld the spirit of cricket throughout.
